The objective of the tesis_FINAL.MP4 or, FINAL_thesis.mp4, project is to test and demonstrate the skills I've acquired over my four years of design studies through an individual project that reflects my abilities in narrative development, character creation, and video production and editing. The resulting short film showcases these skills, integrating cinematic and narrative elements from genres such as mockumentary and found footage.

For a screenwriting class, NIDUM is composed of a script, a storyboard, and its main piece: a trailer based on the script. I was responsible for the direction, screenwriting, and video editing of the project.

The story follows Elena, a young pregnant woman who accompanies her boyfriend, Damián, to his family’s home. What begins as a joyful weekend where Elena will meet her future family turns into a nightmare when she discovers the dark secrets that surround them. Trapped in a household ruled by tradition and fanaticism, Elena fights for her freedom and that of her unborn daughter. However, her fate seems to be written in a macabre legacy from which there is only one way to escape.

VOLARÁN: video introduction

Volarán is an exhibition organized by the Department of Design at Universidad de los Andes, showcasing each semester the most outstanding graduation projects. It offers a broad and diverse range of proposals that highlight the vast possibilities and areas in which Uniandino designers operate.

As part of the curatorial team, I contributed to shaping the exhibition’s narrative and helped direct and edit the video presenting the alumni and their work. This graduation project exhibition is conceived as an open platform for discussion, exploring the connection between the Department’s pedagogical approach and the society we aspire to build. The show invites visitors to engage with ideas through image, material, action, poetry, and concept, making visible the crucial role of design in shaping new societal narratives.
